What should I look for when choosing a Goldendoodle breeder?
As a responsible BUYER: PLEASE do your research BEFORE placing a deposit or purchasing your new family member. This will save a lot of frustration for you and the breeder. You may have different expectations of your selected breeder, and you won’t know until you specify all your concerns and questions. Doing this after a deposit is placed may mean you lose your deposit. When selecting a Goldendoodle breeder, it's essential to consider several key factors to ensure you bring home a healthy and well-adjusted puppy.

1. Can I see the parents’ health-testing results?
   Proving that there has been health testing done on ALL the parents in a breeding program is very important. We FULLY health test ALL of our parents: Genetic, Orthopedic, OFA Eyes & Basic Cardiac. If any of these tests are failed, they are automatically out of our program and retired, and never bred.

2. How are puppies raised and socialized?
   Here at DoodleDee we strive for the best. All puppies are raised inside our home in their very own Puppy Palace!
   We expose our puppies to many different sounds: music, vacuuming, different surfaces & types of toys. Socialized to people, kids,& other pets. They leave well rounded!

3. Does the breeder perform ENS?
   You bet we do! ENS is done Daily starting day 2 until they are 4 weeks old. If we feel that is not enough, we extend it another week! This routine is a very strict must for our pups. ENS is used to jump-start their neurological system through mild, brief physical stressors during a critical development window. We want our pups to not fear children grabbing at paws or tugging on a tail. Household sounds such as a Vacuum can startle a pup, but we got you covered! We do our best to integrate as many things as we can starting with this routine.

4. How are puppies matched with families?
   Some families want different charachteristics in a pup, and we’re here to guide you on your selection every step of the way! We do not just sell you a puppy. We want to make sure it is a perfect match, and do not want a re-home situation. That is so much stress on a puppy & the families.

5. When does potty training begin?
   We pride ourselves on being aware of the crucial need for early introduction to the outside elements as early as possible.
   We start puppy potty training at 4-5 weeks of age. This is vital for an easy transition for the new owners.

6. Are puppies introduced to grooming?
   Yes they are! We start early on bathing, blow dries, nail trims, introduction to the razor for eyes & sanitary shavings.

7. Where do the parent dogs live?
   We absolutely believe in a stress free life for all of our dogs in our breeding program! We use the Guardian program to assure our dogs/pups live in a normal family setting and not caged their entire breeding career as many breeders do. Basic manners & commands are a must, and living in a family setting is the best way to achieve this goal.

8. What veterinary care do puppies receive?
   Quality Vet care is provided for all! We use an amazing vet that has dedicated her career to the Reproduction world.
   Vale Park Animal Hospital is located in Valparaiso, IN. We have used them for years! You are welcome to call them for a reference! They can’t help but love us :)

9. Is there a written health guarantee?

10. Will the breeder provide lifelong support?
    You bet ya! We stand behind our pups and would never ignore any concerns! We are here for you… Good or Bad!

11. Can I meet the breeder and see the environment?
    I love meeting my families & definitely want people to know and understand the importance of seeing where their future family member is raised. After all, this is a VERY important decision and investment. There are many scammers out there sadly. So this is very important to do! We do not allow visitors to see puppies until 4 weeks or older. We are absolutely open to FaceTiming to put you at ease!

12. What are the warning signs of an unethical breeder?
    Not letting you see where the puppies are raised.
    Not willing to FaceTime or taking the time to prove they are legit.
    Not having health testing done or “only having Genetic Testing done”… This is NOT health testing.
    Puppies raised in a shed or barn.
    Back Yard Breeding: Just allowing dogs to breed without pairing them for the vigor & demeanor to better the breed.
    Using the excuse of “We just wanted to have a litter or two” and not doing the proper testing to ensure their families won't be responsible for THOUSANDS of dollars on a genetic or orthopedic nightmare down the road.
    Selling puppies without a written contract.
    Not providing a health report for your puppy.
    Selling puppies extremely cheap, or extremely high without providing FULL testing on the adults.
